Commercial photography of clothing and accessories for catalogues and websites, as well as model portfolios.
I have recently been applying my photographer's eye to a video viewfinder. I enjoy the freedom and space that film gives to tell and build a story.
Using the latest Sony mirrorless cameras and top-end prime lenses, stabilised gimbals and drones and dedicated sound recording gear, I can create a short clip that will speak volumes for you, in the newest medium that people expect to be able to access. From simple website intro's to full commercial and corporate productions, I can assemble an appropriate team to deliver what you need.
All videos presented here were entirely shot and edited by me.
Combining my skills as a photographer of 25 years with having flown radio control models for 35 years, and many hours in fixed and rotary wing aircraft, along with constant dabbling in video production, it seems like a perfect recipe for capturing the world from the air!
With a change in legislation regarding drones, I can now shoot commercially in most areas except over buildings and public spaces. This still allows a vast range of different subjects to be filmed/photographed.
I will soon be obtaining my CASA licence to remove those restrictions and allow shooting with a bigger more versatile drone. Start planning now ;-)

People change and kids grow so quickly... don't let it slip by unrecorded. I can capture a timeless portrait of your family to preserve this part of your story. Images are printed on archival paper so that future generations will marvel at "old photos" of you like we do of our own ancestors.
I prefer to shoot with natural light (although I sometimes use lights if required), and love integrating your home and garden into the shoot. I believe your portrait should tell how we live as much as who we are. Feel free to include things that define you or your children. I'm happy to shoot anywhere in Hobart, although a small travel fee may be asked if more than 20kms from South Hobart.
If your business needs photographs, they need to reflect the standing and image of your company. From executive headshots, staff photos, workplace training and production-manual shots, annual reports to documenting a project's progress, I will match the style of photography to your corporate image.
High-res digital files can be supplied for website and in-house printing, and archival material is used for printed images.
Architectural photography is, in my mind, the pinnacle of technical photography.
Composition, lighting, proportion... it is essential to get each right in order to communicate the architect's intention.
I love that challenge!
If your business has a product to sell, I can make it shine! From jewellery to buildings to vehicles to silos, nothing is out of the question. Images are shot on the highest quality professional cameras and the sharpest lenses available.
I prefer simple uncluttered compositions with clean lighting — but of course, it's your product, and I'll shoot it how you like.
It's my policy that you only pay for images once. No ongoing usage fees, licensing or restrictions. I usually charge an hourly or daily rate which includes image processing and supply. A simple one-off charge... nothing hidden.
Since 2006 I have been staff photographer and writer for the highly acclaimed FlyLife magazine, so I know how to tell a story in images. With experience in everything from macro (close-up) photography to getting the "big-picture" shots, I can illustrate your magazine article with the appropriate images you need.
I'm also an outdoorsy-type, so far-flung locations are no problem. I'm happy to travel throughout Tasmania and the world (though a travel fee will apply of course!). I have extensive experience with roped work, and can cover any subject anywhere, from underwater to aerial shots from above.
I also have a large catalogue of images from around Tasmania to draw from.
Past magazine clients have included:
Voyeur (Virgin in-flight)
40 Degrees South
Australian Mountain Bike
Quiet Flight International
and many tourism advertisements in Tasmania and the Snowy Mountains of NSW.
Car and vehicle photography.
It's your passion. You love it more than your kids (almost). So... keep it forever.
Car-lovers invest an incredible amount of time and energy (oh yeah, and money) in their rides. But vehicles come and go, some get crashed and some, sadly, get stolen :-(
I can record a set of photographs detailing all the work you've put into your pride and joy, from the interior, to the engine, to the paintwork. From motorbikes to hot-rods, street-cruisers to classic cars and trucks.
Images are printed on archival metallic-pearl paper to simulate the shine in the original vehicle. Framed sets are available to take the hard work out of it for you.
HORSE POWER SPECTACULAR COMPETITION
The competition was won by Bec D of Kingston.
Live performance is one of my favourite subjects to shoot. It's vibrant, colourful, dynamic and technically demanding — a challenge I embrace.
Whether it's a band performance, album cover, dance recital or stage-play, I'd love to be involved in capturing it.
If you need photos for tourism, real-estate, architecture or promotion, I'm confident I can capture photographs that will show the location in its best light.

Fly fishing... it's my passion and my life.
Since 2006 I have been staff photographer and writer for the highly acclaimed FlyLife magazine, a dream-job if ever there was one! I also co-published a coffee-table book in 2008 called "In Season - Tasmania — a year of fly fishing highlights" which sold out the first print run in months. Copies of the second edition in softcover are still available from the SHOP tab on this site with a publisher-direct discount (now $29.95, was $59.95).
Prints are available of any of my images from FlyLife or In Season. Check out the "shop" page or contact me for pricing if the image you want isn't there.
Weddings are fun. I have shot about 400, and I still seem to get caught up in the happy vibes. It's a special day, and I'll do my utmost to make sure that it's captured perfectly.
